Trip Itinerary
Day 1 Kathgodam to Lohajung 8-9 hrs. drive an altitude - 7400 ft.
The journey uphill from Kathgodam railway station to Lohajung will take you through mountain alleys, connecting the lower Himalayan belt of Kumaon hills to Garhwal. Near the end of the drive, close to Lohajung, the mesmerizing Nanda Ghunti peak will come into view. You’ll reach Lohajung guest house, your overnight stop.
Day 2 Lohajung to Bekaltal 7 km, 4 -5 hrs. trek altitude - 9100 ft.
The first day’s trek from Lohajung to Bekaltal takes around 5 hours. After a short while, the forest opens up to a view of Mandoli village to your left. Continue trekking to find a cluster of mud huts. After crossing the last stream, hike for approximately an hour to reach the serene Bekaltal, which gleams peacefully in summer and is partially frozen over in winter.
Day 3 Bekaltal to Brahmatal 8 km,3-4 hrs trek, altitude - 10200 ft.
Today’s trek leads you through dense thickets of oaks and rhododendrons over steep slopes. Eventually, you emerge into the Telandi meadow. In winter, Telandi transforms into a vast snowfield, offering thrilling adventures. The meadow extends up to 10,200 feet, the highest point, before descending slowly to Brahmatal.
Day 4 Brahmatal to Jhandi Top summit than back to Tilandi camp all day explore.max altitude - 12220 ft.
The zigzag ascent trail leads you to Brahmatal Lake. On a bright day, the lake’s charismatic waters reflect the sunlight artistically. After walking a while and crossing the meadow, the final climb toward the pass begins. Though the hike can be tiring, once you reach the top, you’ll arrive at the Tilbudi campsite, a clearing surrounded by trees on all sides, within an hour.
Day 5 Tilandi camp to Lohajung 5-6 hrs. trek and check in Rest house/ home stay.
After breakfast, head towards Wan on a trail lined with oak and rhododendron trees. After walking a while, you’ll encounter a water source at Chota Tilbundi. Half an hour later, you’ll spot Wan village below. Continue for another half-hour to reach the road, where vehicles will be arranged to take you back to Lohajung.
Day 6 Lohajung to Kathgodam 7 - 8 hrs drive and depart.
After a restful night at our Lohajung guest house, we head back to Kathgodam today, reaching by 6:00 pm. We can pause at Kausani for a short stopover to commemorate the trek and enjoy souvenir shopping.
