Gangotri Valley to Kedar Valley

Auden’s Col Trek is an adventurous journey that commences from Gangotri at an elevation of 3,048 meters, a significant Hindu pilgrimage site dedicated to Goddess Ganga, the holiest river in India. From Gangotri, the trail leads to Nala Camp, covering 8 kilometers of easy terrain. The scenic walk through a Pine and Birch forest transforms into a delightful journey with views of Himalayan peaks such as Jogin and the Kedartal range. Continuing from Nala Camp, the trail progresses to Rudragaira Base Camp, an additional 7-8 kilometers of gradual ascent. The route then turns towards the base of the Gangotri group of peaks, leading to Auden’s Col and passing through glaciated tracks. From Auden’s Col, the trek proceeds to Khatling Glacier and further to Chowki, a high-altitude meadow. From Chowki, the path heads to Masar Tal and then to Vasuki Tal, two high-altitude lakes in the Garhwal Himalayan region. After Vasuki Tal, an 8-kilometer downhill trail leads to Kedarnath, another significant Hindu pilgrimage site and the remotest location of the Char Dham Yatra. The Auden’s Col Trek concludes at Rishikesh, which can be reached via Gaurikund, Rudraprayag, and Devprayag, providing trekkers with a diverse and challenging expedition through the stunning landscapes of the Garhwal Himalayas.
