Kuari Pass trek offers a highly varied and scenic experience, where trekkers find themselves walking under a natural marquee of trees, surrounded by the raw beauty of the Himalayan landscape. The best time for the Kuari Pass trek is from December to March when the entire trail is adorned in a pristine blanket of snow. The winter wonderland transforms the landscape into a magical realm, offering a unique and enchanting experience for trekkers seeking the thrill of a snowy adventure. As trekkers ascend, more peaks reveal themselves, including Nanda Ghunti, Hathi Ghoda Parbat, Neelkanth, Dronagiri, Mukut Parbat, Mana, Rishi Pahad, and Changbang, among others. The trail takes trekkers through a series of forests and meadows, each turn offering a new perspective of the breathtaking scenery. Kuari Pass Trek is not just a physical journey; it is a spiritual and visual odyssey through the heart of the Garhwal Himalayas. The diverse landscapes, from dense forests to open meadows, create a sense of wonder and awe. Trip Itinerary
Day 1 Arrival at Joshimath and check-in guest house/hotel an altitude - 6200 ft.
The journey to Joshimath promises to be challenging yet rewarding, offering endless breathtaking vistas. Our Garuda expedition commences from a Joshimath base, where our executive will warmly welcome you. Upon arrival, you’ll be escorted to a guest house, where you can unwind and enjoy the evening, staying overnight in comfort.
Day 2 Joshimath to Gulling Top drive and 6 km trek, altitude - 9400 ft.
After breakfast, we depart for Dhak village in Joshimath tehsil, a scenic 45-minute drive over rocky terrain. Our trek begins here, offering views of the gentle slopes of the Sleeping Lady Mountain. At our campsite, anticipate witnessing the Dronagiri peak bathed in the shimmering morning light the following dawn.
Day 3 Gulling Top to Tali Forest Camp 3-4 hrs trek an altitude is 11,100 ft.
In March, you may still encounter white and pink blossoms amidst walnut and various coniferous trees. The conifer forests of Gulling, our second campsite on the trek, await us. Along the trail, marvel at the majestic Hathi-Ghori peaks and the partially sideways view of Dronagiri, showcasing their splendorous presence.
Day 4 Tali forest camp to Kuari pass and back via Khullara top max altitude is 12,500 ft.
On the fourth day, we embark on the summit day, trekking up to Khullara Top with a moderate ascent covering 4 km. Regular breaks are encouraged every 15 minutes to rest and rejuvenate. After approximately 2 hours at Jhandi Dhar, a convenient rest stop, lunch will be provided either en route or upon arrival at the base of the Kuari High Pass.
Day 5 Tali forest camp to Joshimath via Gurson bugyal max altitude 11150 ft. and Auli 9600 ft.
Crossing the Bugyals of Gorson involves a smooth, hassle-free trek across gently rolling terrain, devoid of strenuous climbs. While the high winter snow may leave the area somewhat deserted, the journey remains serene. Upon arrival at Auli, we drive to Joshimath and check into our hotel for a comfortable stay.
